Somia Sahial

Somia is from San Diego, California. She is currently an undergrad at University of California, San Diego (UCSD) working on obtaining her bachelor’s of science in Global Health. She plans on continuing her education into the path of medicine and pursue pediatrics. She volunteered at the UCSD Student-Run Free Clinic where she assisted patients with their healthcare application process, alongside explored and communicated with multiple pharmaceutical companies regarding free healthcare programs for patients who are uninsured. She is interested in finding multiple solutions to help people in the underserved communities. While her career goal is to pursue pediatrics, she hopes to one day volunteer and help patients under the program called doctors without borders at an international level. As of now she is volunteering at the homeless heal to educate the patients as well as herself in regards to certain health-related topics that can bring a change on an individual level. She is excited to be involved! She hopes to make a difference, even if it is small. In her spare time, she likes to paint, play tennis, listen to music, & try new things.
