In today’s spotlight, we have Sejal! Sejal wanted to make a purposeful impact for the homeless in joining Homeless HEAL! They have been a positively influential member of our organization!
1. What made you join Homeless HEAL?
I joined Homeless HEAL to be a part of a meaningful way to teach and benefit the homeless population around San Diego! I loved that this organization empowers both the student educators and homeless community through allowing both sides to understand a topic in a deeper sense through debunking myths and learning new facts!
2. What was your favorite experience with Homeless HEAL?
My favorite experience with Homeless HEAL would be researching information to include in my presentation. I always learn something new through this process and am most times surprised by what I did not know!
3. What do you want people to know about Homeless HEAL?
I want people to know that the students part of this organization work hard to make the information very personalized to the specific homeless population they are teaching, which ranges from elementary kids to adults! We ensure that the slides we present are interactive and include language and vocabulary that is simple for the intended age group to understand, which promotes better learning of the topics!
4. What are your favorite hobbies?
In my free time, I love to paint, work out, bake banana bread, and play tennis!
